Bought the Acer Nitro 16S AI with the Ryzen 9 AI and RTX 5070 Ti. Great performance for the price, screen is nice, and it handles my games well. Build feels decent too.
Big heads-up though: the 5070 Ti burns pretty hot under load. I recommend getting a cooling pad.

Right out of the box, this thing is FAST. Whether I’m gaming, editing video, or just multitasking with a bunch of tabs open, it handles everything without breaking a sweat. The combination of a modern AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 Processor and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card makes a huge difference — smooth gameplay, quick load times, and zero lag in everyday use. It’s one of those laptops where you can actually feel the horsepower.
GAMING EXPERIENCE
Gaming on this machine is a blast. The high refresh rate screen makes everything look buttery smooth, and the graphics performance is seriously impressive for the price range. It runs modern titles beautifully at solid settings, delivering excellent performance-per-dollar compared to more expensive machines.
COOLING & BUILD
Another thing I really appreciate is how well it manages heat. Even during longer gaming sessions, it stays surprisingly controlled, and the cooling system does its job without sounding like a jet engine (unless you turn up the performance to full gaming mode). Speaking of which, you can use the Acer NitroSense built-in software which is the control hub tied directly to that orange “Nitro” button up top. When you press it, it pops open NitroSense and lets you switch between performance modes like:
Quiet / Power-saving (keeps things cool and quiet)
Balanced (everyday use)
Performance / High Performance (this is where the fans kick up and it starts sounding like a jet engine ????)
It also lets you:
Manually control fan speeds.
Monitor CPU/GPU temps.
Check system load in real time.
Sometimes tweak lighting depending on the model.
The keyboard lighting up in multicolors along with the overall design is clean and aggressive without being over the top — very “gamer,” but still professional enough to use anywhere.
EVERYDAY USE
It’s not just a gaming laptop — it’s a great all-around machine. Battery life is better than expected for something this powerful, and there are plenty of ports for whatever you need. It’s just as comfortable for work and browsing as it is for gaming.

Great Screen, Strong GPU, Solid All-Around Performance, Feels Premium

This is one of the higher-spec Nitro models, with a Ryzen AI 9 CPU, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti (12GB GDDR7), 32 GB RAM (2 × 16 GB), and 2 TB of NVMe storage (dual 1 TB SSDs), and it shows in everyday use.
Performance is excellent for both gaming and productivity. Modern games run smoothly at high settings, especially those using the built-in AI hardware. The 16″ 2560 × 1600 (16:10) 180 Hz, 400-nit IPS panel is a good match for the GPU and is superior to the dim, washed-out screens often found on cheaper gaming models. Colors look accurate, motion is smooth, and the extra vertical space is noticeable for browsing and work. It’s not a touchscreen, but gaming laptops rarely are. This model supports NVIDIA Advanced Optimus (via a MUX switch), which means the laptop can switch between integrated graphics and the GPU without a restart—saving battery while boosting gaming performance (important for many people).
Note that this is a 180 Hz IPS panel. Some competing laptops, like the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16, offer 240 Hz OLED displays, but those typically cost $1,000+ more for the base model.
Thermals are well managed for a thin chassis, though the fans do get loud under sustained load—expected for this class of laptop, so this isn’t something you’ll want running at full blast in a quiet room.
Build quality is better than older Acer Nitros. The metal lid, slim profile, and clean design make it feel more premium and less “gamer.” The keyboard and trackpad are solid, and the 1080p webcam with IR (Windows Hello) plus a physical privacy shutter is a nice touch that’s still missing on many gaming laptops.
Battery life is average. Light tasks like browsing and video get me roughly 5 hours, but heavy workloads or gaming drain it quickly. This is very much a plugged-in performance machine.
One feature that can’t be ignored is the built-in AI hardware, the Neural Processing Unit (NPU). In 2026, this isn’t just marketing. Rated at nearly 1,000 combined AI TOPS, the NPU offloads constant background and creative tasks from the CPU and GPU, improving efficiency and keeping heat down. You’ll see the biggest benefits in software designed for it—such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, and DaVinci Resolve—as well as streaming, webcam effects, and Windows Copilot+ features. Is the NPU worth it? It’s one of those things you don’t notice right away, but it matters if you use newer apps that tap into it, and the efficiency gains are real. If you only play offline games and never use a webcam or creative apps, you probably won’t care. But if you want a “future-proof” laptop that stays relevant for the next few years as Windows becomes more AI-driven, it’s a nice bonus.
Also worth noting: one of the USB-C ports is a full USB4 40 Gbps port, which is a big win for anyone using high-speed external drives or docking stations. It also supports DisplayPort Alt Mode to output high-resolution video signals directly to external monitors, up to 8K at 60 Hz, though it’s wired to the AMD Ryzen AI 9 processor (the iGPU). The HDMI 2.1 port is wired directly to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti (the dGPU) and has enough bandwidth to drive 4K monitors at high refresh rates (120 Hz or 144 Hz) or 8K displays at 60 Hz.

I recommend a USB4 or Thunderbolt docking station.
Overall, this is a well-rounded, high-performance laptop that balances power, screen quality, and portability better than most Nitro models in the past. It’s not silent, and it won’t last all day on battery, but it’s a good choice if you want strong gaming and productivity performance in a relatively slim, clean-looking package. If you never move your laptop and just want the cheapest way to game at a desk, a larger model might make more sense.

Amazing Gaming Computer

The graphics are really great and there is barely any lag on the game play. I use headphones when I game, but the speakers are not too shabby for laptop speakers. The battery lasts a decent amount of time, but I don't really use it a lot without having it plugged in. It's a great computer even for novice PC gamers like me. My only complaint is that this laptop isn't the most durable. The outside is little flimsy and you'll definitely need a protective case if you leave the house with it. Overall, I really love this computer.

Smooth display, stable optimized cooling

I wanted to use this laptop for a few weeks before I can write a review of how well it handles. I will start by saying that my primary use of this laptop is not for gaming. I do play some games with the laptop and I will come to that shortly. I wanted a laptop that had good specifications so that I can use for graphics applications. What I am primarily running on this laptop is Sketchup and Revit. It handles the graphics very well. I do not notice any sluggishness when working with these softwares and things load and move smoothly. The 32gb ram is an overkill for these applications but it makes my work much easier and smoother. The CPU is also capable of handling these applications without the laptop getting overheated. i did notice that if I am running several files and the laptop is not plugged on the charger, it does drain the battery very fast and it also tends to get very hot. In terms of the chasis for this laptop, Acer should have offered a more superior built quality than what it is offering for this price point. It does feel cheap compared to similar specs brands from competitors such as Lenovo. However, this does come at a lower price point when you compare with other brands that have these many features loaded. The Ai copilot+ features are not at all useful to me because I am more of a Google Gemini person. I see some of these Ai features as a destruction and waste of energy/ ram that could be used for other applications. In terms of gaming, i have been surprised hwo well this is performing. While gaming, it does not get too hot and the games are very smooth. I feel that the cooling is well optimized because even when I am on the turbo mode, the temperatures remain relatively normal. I also appreciate the quiet nature of the laptop even when I am running multiple applications. In the whole, I appreciate this laptop for its smoothness, stability, quiet, and portability. I have no hesitations at all recommending it because the price is good for the specifications that you get and this is definitely a keeper for at least two years!

Wonderful High-End Laptop

I am very impressed by this laptop. I work in IT, so I am not using it for games but more for high-powered business computing like virtualization.
It starts right with unpacking it. It feels and looks incredibly solid and well built. Be aware that the power brick is pretty large so you need to carry around that extra weight. The power plug that you insert into the back of the laptop requires a deliberate push and almost a snap to get it fully seated. This must be a known issue wince the documents include pictures on how it needs to be inserted.
It is fast and quiet. The keyboard is very responsive with no lag. The screen is bright and vibrant. The mouse pad is a bit touchy at times, but I may just need to play with the settings. It does not come with a lot of junk software and apps, which is fantastic! I do however tend to reload the operating system on any new PC just to make sure it is clean as can be. In this case, I needed to reload because of the other issue...
For such a high-end laptop, it would have been nice to include Windows 11 Pro instead of Windows 11 Home. I connect to networks, so Home was a non-starter for me. Since I needed to upgrade anyway, I just went with Windows 11 Enterprise. The OS installed easily but did not recognize all of the hardware, so I did need to download some drivers from Acer. All the drivers were easily available though. After going through the process, everything works flawlessly.
I have not had the opportunity yet to put the NVIDIA graphics card through its paces. I may load MSFS to see how well it can handle graphics under a high load.
Overall, a great laptop!

Solid High Performance

Overall, it is a relatively thin computer as a gaming computer, but with the 16 inch monitor, it is still a sizable device. The power supply is also pretty substantial in both size and weight. Overall, it feels solid.
There are different ports on three sides on the computer (HDMI, USB, network, etc), however each side tends to have its own set. For example, you only find USB-C on the back. If you use a lot of ports, you may need to add a dock.
Getting started was easy, but it did take about an hour to walk through the initial setup and then have it download and install updates.
As to the performance, this is where the Acer really shines. I put it through a GPU stress test, a CPU stress test, and then combined them. You can see the results, but I was particularly impressed with the CPU. The processor speed is rated at 2 GHz, but in the stress test was averaging 3.5 GHz with no trail off even after 15 minutes. The CPUs stayed in a safe range at around 80 degrees C and the CPUs averaged 177% through the test.
The GPU also performed admirable and hit 154 FPS at 1920 x 1080 while keeping the temperature at 68 degrees C.
In both cases, the CPU and GPU sustained 100% performance for an extended period of time without the need for any thermal throttling.
I didn't really test the battery extensively, but from my experience, with a normal level of use, you would probably get about 4 or 5 hours. It didn't feel like it would be a battery that would last all day.
While this does have a high price tag, if you are looking for portable gaming, this packs a punch and delivers consistent high performance in a compact format that rivals many desktop computers.

very powerful for this price laptop

AMD Ryzen AI 9 processor is very fast and works super smooth for gaming. I really like the RTX 5070 Ti GPU, it is very strong and games look very realistic with ray tracing and DLSS. It has 12GB of VRAM, and for me this is more than enough. The display is great, 16-inch screen looks sharp, colors are nice, and 180Hz is very useful for gaming. It has two fans and cooling works well, laptop stays cool even under load. Build quality is very good, materials feel strong, nothing is loose, no flex, everything feels solid and sits well in place. 32GB RAM and 2TB SSD are a lot and everything opens very fast. Price is very good for today’s market. RAM and GPU are expensive now, so this laptop is a very good choice.
