Excellent Laptop at this price point

The laptop arrived undamaged, and setup was straight forward. It feels like it is put together very well, and has a solid feel to it (unlike some of the other laptops on the market that feel a little to 'plastic'). It is plenty fast for her needs (mostly online research, browsing, email, etc), and I have no doubt that it is capable of a lot more (not sure about professional use, but laptop needs are very personal). I was surprised that it did not have any 'blaotware' preinstalled (but I have not purchased a new computer in quite sometime, so perhaps that is no longer the industry practice). At just under $700 in today's market, I think it is an excellent value. We have only been using it for a few days, so the battery life has not been tested yet. that said it seems like it is holding up pretty well.

Already I can tell this one is a winner...

I have only been setting it up for a few hours, but I can already tell this one is a winner. I have bought many Acer laptops over the last decade, and I think they hit a very nice price point for the value; good build quality, good performance, great price. This one joins 3 other Aspire laptops that are my go-to for all of my experiments and work (the other three are now full Linux machines). The display is very nice, great contrast and a nice matte finish, very bright.

School and/or Work = Perfect Choice

Cons: Screen is just okay. Decent for work, school, and browsing the web. Definitely not it's selling point. Speakers are fine. Nothing bombastic. Lots of bloatware on first start up that needs to be deleted.
Bottom Line: I got this for school and work. For photo editing, gaming, or media consumption, just use a hi-res display. Otherwise, this is a perfect laptop for on the go. The internal specs make it future proof (for atleast a few years). Highly Recommend.

nice little laptop with great specs and 2 thunderbolt ports

I am a bookkeeper and prepare taxes, have both machines loaded with every program I need, QuickBooks, Drake tax software. Make nightly backup copies and in 5 10 minutes can be up and running on this machine off of backup if the need should arise.
